Idox is the application used by the planning,
building control, land charges and street name and numbering
service.
The supplier of the system has identified that there are a number
of required upgrades and updates for the system to remain working
and under support. There are a number of significant upgrades to
the core database that underpins the system and also some updates
that provide new functionality as well as updates for patches
etc.
If the system is not upgraded then we will not be able to use the
system and the service may fail.
It is proposed to invest no more than £18,000 in delivering
improvements to the system.
Cabinet authorised the Director for Resources to allocate the IT
capital allocation of £150,000 this decision seek to draw
down from this capital fund.
The only other option is to not carry out the
upgrades which is likely to leave the council with a key system
that is not supported by the supplier and also fails to support the
service.
