WELCOME AND INTRODUCTION BY THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNCIL

The Chairman welcomed all parish representatives to the Parish Council Forum.

NOTES OF THE LAST MEETING

To confirm the Notes of the Parish Council Forum held on 30 January 2017.

Minutes:

The Notes of the Parish Council Forum held on 30 January 2017 were confirmed by parish representatives and signed by the Chairman.

 

4.

MATTERS ARISING FROM THE LAST MEETING

To discuss any matters arising from the Parish Council Forum held on 30 January 2017.

There were no matters arising from the notes of the last meeting.

 

5.

"TALKBACK"

To receive updates from parish representatives on organisations they represent which might be of interest to other members of the Forum.

Minutes:

Mr Bacon advised that following the last Parish Council Forum (30 January 2017) Mr Christopher Renner (Normanton Parish Meeting) had attended a meeting of the Parish Council Working Group as an observer.

 

Mr Bacon proposed that Mr Renner be elected to the Parish Council Working Group as a Parish Meeting representative; Miss Waller seconded the proposal which was carried.

 

6.

PARISH BRIEFING PAPER

To receive the Parish Briefing Paper (24 April 2017) on issues currently affecting Rutland (to be circulated at the Forum).

 

Parish Clerks and Representatives are asked to display the document on parish notice boards.

7.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

To consider any other items of business which parish representatives may wish to raise.

Minutes:

Mrs Briggs, Chief Executive, Rutland County Council thanked the Parishes in anticipation of their involvement in the forthcoming General Election.  Parishes were urged to respond quickly to any correspondence received from Jeremy Barnes, Electoral Services Officer, in relation to the election; and a quick turnaround regarding this would be appreciated.

DEVELOPMENT CONTROL

Minutes:

Gary Pullan, Development Control Manager, Rutland County Council

 

A presentation was received from Mr Pullan; responding to a number of written questions received from various parishes, copies of which were distributed at the meeting.

 

The Chairman advised that the Planning Policy team would be providing a written response to Item B (Planning Policy) on the questions; and that it was hoped that training sessions for any parish councillors interested would be provided in the future, possibly late summer.
