Report No. 216/2018 was received from the Chief Executive.

Mrs Helen Briggs, Chief Executive, introduced the report the purpose of which was to provide Cabinet with a progress report on the St George’s Barracks project further to the report of March 2018.

During discussion the following points were noted:

1. The St Georges Project Board and the St Georges Advisory Group had requested further detail from the MOD on viability.  Conversations were ongoing with the MOD on the level of detail that could be provided and legal advice was also being taken with regards to the appropriate level of disclosure at this point.  A more detailed response would be included in the Report to Cabinet in December; and
2. Mr Brown provided an update on the Local Plan confirming that further information had been requested with regard to the Woolfox Proposal.  The Objectively Assessed Need would remain at 160 homes per year over the plan period.

DECISIONS:

Cabinet NOTED the progress update in respect of the St George’s Barracks Project and in particular the revised dates for the presentation of formal reports to Cabinet and Council at para 5.1 of Report No. 216/2018.

Reasons for the decision

Progress on the project is in line with the programme.
