To agree the purchase of services from the IT
Capital Program 20/21.
The Council has a servers, disk storage and networks that provide
applications to end users. Much of this infrastructure is over 5
years old and needs refreshing and we have established that we can
purchase one simple solution to provide this central
solution.
This will modernise the Council’s IT but also will allow our
revenue costs to reduce as we will not pay as much in maintenance
of hardware and there are opportunities to reduce or remove
software licenses. In addition this new equipment will resovle a
potential Microsoft Licence problem.
It is proposed to invest no more than £33,000 in delivering
this solution.
