Christine was married to Trevor for 44 years before being widowed in October 2022.  Although originally from Essex they lived all their married life in Uppingham, raised their two sons there and Christine still lives in Uppingham.

Originally working in a laboratory before moving into teaching Maths and IT in local schools, Christine ended up lecturing and researching Educational Leadership at The Open University.  As a result she has an eclectic mix of qualifications culminating in her PhD.

Latterly Christine was a full-time carer for Trevor and became a County Councillor in 2023.  She has a strong policy interest in education, health, social care and the environment which sit alongside many of the voluntary roles she has engaged in throughout her adult life.

Her personal interests are varied and often depend on the weather: walking, Nordic walking, cycling, motorcycling, horse riding, swimming, knitting, jigsaws and reading.
